Like A Good Fight? Try Carp!
My path has crossed with many fishermen over the years. They tell me stories of the walleye they caught on a trip to the lake. They tell me about a day spent bass fishing and the big one that got away. Almost without fail when I relate one of my carp fishing experiences, I get puzzled looks. I stand by my opinion that carp are the best fight for the effort required. You can find carp in just about any body of water. I’ve pulled them out of ponds, lakes, and rivers in varying sizes. I have yet to find a bigger rush than the moment that I realize I’ve hooked a monster close to four feet and this happens quite often in any moderate-sized body of water. The best bait I’ve found for carp is a simple can of corn so a spur of the moment fishing trip is easily possible simply by raiding your pantry. If you’ve never embarked on an adventure purely to catch a monster fish that provides ample fight to keep things entertaining, I encourage you to give carp fishing a try.
